About me

Hi, and welcome to the M5TXJ/G8TXJ website, always under modification I'm afraid, but please have a look around. I'm not much of a web designer so don't expect anything too fancy. I hope you'll bear with me as work and other commitments will no doubt delay updates! A more secure guestbook script has been added, any comments on the site positive or negative are really appreciated.

Regards Dave.

I'm now getting active on DATV, that's Digital Amateur TV with a BATC Portsdown transmitter and a Minitiouner receiver.
More information on both of these can be found on the BATC web page and Wiki.

This is the set up I used in the June ATV activity weekend,

----------------------

This summer I made my best ever 2m QSO with EB8AYA during the VHF Low Power Contest, here's a picture of the QSL card,
VHF, line of sight, really!

EB8AYA QSL

This QSO was made using my new /P aerial from Goran at antennas-amplifiers.com in Serbia, absolutely fantastic quality and performance.
This is the PA 144-148-8-3, it doesn't appear on his site because it was made specially for me to cover 144-148MHz for DATV use.

To celebrate my being licensed 30 years, seven of the local amateur community went to Indiagate in Penrith for a curry. Our curry nights are becoming legendary! Left to right; Martin G4FUI, Chris M0JKQ, Trevor 2E0TXG, Mark G0MDV, yours truly, Seamus G7ITT and Simon M5TNT
