EVRS Christmas Dinner 2011 - take 2.
Due to the very severe weather just before Christmas 2010 the EVRS annual Christmas get togetherhad to be postponed. We were luckier this time and once again the EVRS met at The Lowther Castle for a Christmas Dinner.

Visit to Skelton "A" and "C" Sept 2011
Russell Barnes G4YLI very kindly hosted several EVRS members and guests to the former BBC (now VT) transmitting station at Skelton. First stop was the very impressive "Sender hall" at Skelton "A" where Tony G4LFU got the chance to tune one of the 250KW Marconi senders (transmitters). Following a full inspection of the ins and outs of one of the senders, the party moved over to Skelton "C" and its more modern 300KW senders, giving chance for another tune up! Finally the entourage moved back to Skelton "A" and the canteen for a cuppa and biccies. Many thanks Russell, I'm looking forward to the next visit...

Mobile Exhibition unit outings.
July 2nd and 3rd 2011 saw the first two outings for the E.V.R.S. caravan, firstly at Solway aviation society's "Veterans Day" then the following day at Warcop Village Festival. Special Event calls were in use on both days and we even got a mention in the local press. Lots more pictures on the caravan page.

Winner of the 2011 Constructors Competition.
Dave Patrick G8KAP was voted the winner of the construction competition by a very considerable margin, Dave has built a very accurate replica "Paraset" transceiver. Dave was presented the trophy by John Pape G0NYQ last years winner.
